How much participants is the best for a mushroom ceremony?
The ideal number of participants for a mushroom ceremony can vary depending on the situation, intentions, and the experience level of the facilitator(s). At Triptherapie we prefer a maximum of 6 participants, that allows the group for deeper trips and still mainting the group feeling.
Small Group (Max 6 participants):
- Ideal for deep, personal work: A smaller group allows for more individualized attention and a safer, more intimate setting.
- Easier to manage: The facilitators can better support each participant emotionally and spiritually.
- Enhanced group cohesion: Smaller groups often foster a stronger sense of trust and connection among participants.
Medium Group (7-12 participants):
- Suitable for community or shared experiences: This size can work well for ceremonies focused on group bonding or collective healing.
- Requires experienced facilitation: More participants mean more potential for varying needs and emotional states. This makes it difficult to give a high dose of mushrooms
- Balance between intimacy and group energy: The group is large enough to create a shared energetic field but small enough to maintain some personal connection.
Large Group (13+ participants):
- Less common for traditional ceremonies: Larger groups can be challenging to manage and may dilute the personal experience.
- Requires multiple facilitators: Adequate support is crucial to ensure safety and guidance for all participants.
- More impersonal: The experience may feel less intimate, and individual needs might not be as easily addressed.
In general, smaller groups (3-6 participants) are often recommended for a more profound and manageable experience, especially for those new to mushroom ceremonies. We always have two guides available for our magic mushroom ceremonies with maximum 6 participants.
