I have borderline personality traits or a BPD diagnosis. Does this automatically disqualify me?

A diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) or the presence of borderline traits does not automatically disqualify you from participating in psychedelic therapy at Triptherapie. However, it is treated with extra care due to the emotional intensity and sensitivity that often accompany this condition.

BPD is considered a relative contraindication, meaning that participation is sometimes possible, depending on your current level of stability, emotional regulation, and support system. If your symptoms are well-managed, and you are actively engaged in therapy or self-development, the team may decide that a psychedelic session can be beneficial when planned and supported carefully.

During the intake process, your personal history and current emotional resilience will be evaluated in detail. The goal is to ensure that the experience remains safe, grounded, and constructive. Psychedelics can intensify emotions and bring up core wounds, so preparation and integration are especially important for individuals with BPD traits.

In some cases, additional preparation may be advised. This might include working with a therapist in advance, choosing a lower starting dose, or planning for more intensive aftercare to help process what comes up during the session. If necessary, the team will also discuss alternative approaches or timing to make sure you feel supported throughout the process. What we advise a lot is support of family or friends the two days after the psychedelic session like with truffles.
